Welcome to our school website.

Below we have outlined the fantastic topics which we will be covering in the Autumn term, individual class information and activities to support learning at home.

Autumn Term 1 Coverage

We will start the year off by learning all about the brain. This will help us to understand how it works, how we learn best and set us up for the year ahead.

Following this, we will then venture into the Amazon Rainforest for our IPC topic - Saving The World to discover it's location, inhabitants, produce and much more as we cover an array of subjects as part of our research project.

In Literacy, we will be creating a non-chronological report on a chosen rainforest animal, writing in paragraphs and using focused SPaG lessons to learn how to edit and improve our work. Pupils will practise their handwriting each morning as a starter activity.

We will be following on from year 3 Maths, looking at number and place value moving from HTO to ThHTO. By the end of year 4, pupils are expected to know their times tables up to 12 x 12 and the corresponding division facts, so we will be learning and assessing these weekly.

As well as our daily guided reading sessions, each class will have their own class book and both the TA and the teacher will be reading individually with each pupil weekly. Please note, it is expected that each pupil reads five-times a week at home and the diary is signed each day.
