Curriculum adaptation for SEND
Our school makes sure every child with SEND can access learning by identifying their precise barrier using the 7Cs and matching support carefully to their needs. Teaching is clear, consistent and research‑informed, using I Do We Do You Do modelling, purposeful classrooms and strategies that reduce cognitive load. Children receive the right help in the moment — such as visuals, chunked instructions and concrete resources — while longer‑term interventions build the underlying skills they need to become more independent. When a child is working below age‑related expectations, teachers follow a structured process to ensure they learn what they need next, with adapted tasks that still keep them included in the lesson. Progress is seen in small, steady steps, stronger foundations and growing independence. Above all, we commit to identifying barriers precisely, planning adaptations thoughtfully and ensuring every child experiences success and meaningful progress.
